Basement Cast Stone Fireplace

“The original fireplace was lacking a mantle and had an unattractive brick facade, surrounding a shallow depth firebox. The wood windows, were set in deteriorating brick window wells, and had rotted. The window well drains were inoperative as they had collapsed with age. As part of the restoration of our basement, you totally rebuilt the window wells, installed a new drain system, replaced the windows and installed a new cast stone fireplace surround. The moldings were custom fabricated to replicate the originals. We have had nothing but complements on the workmanship and how quickly the project was completed.” – J & D

“The stairway to our basement was showing its age. Stair treads were worn, balusters broken and the railing on one side had mysteriously disappeared. You removed and replaced all stair treads, replicated and replaced the intricately carved balusters and then installed a new custom railing whose profile matched that of theoriginal railing. “With restoration of the basement completed you were able to solve our book storage dilemma by creating a combination bookcase and media center for the west wall of the basement. Fabricated from walnut, it provides an attractive and functional addition to what has now become an entertainment center for family and friends. The concealed LED lighting built into the bookcase frame will allow us to easily read the names of books that we have stored.. The lower cabinets with pull out shelving provide generous storage and ease of access for games and puzzles .
